White Bread and Brown Hacksaws

This is the working title of a work in progress by Wendell "Tony" Scott expected to be released in print by the summer of 2015. The story is set in the neighborhood around Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn, New York.
A young trophy wife from the Sakha Republic of Russia finds friendship and a chance to escape her abusive marriage to a wealthy gem dealer among the non-white minority residents living around the Hasidic Jewish enclave centered on the parkway. Drugs, sex, gambling, love affairs, and self discovery are woven into a compelling tale of life in the big city.

I am an American born in Jamaica. My writing reflect the influence of both cultures. If I sometimes appear to criticize both my countries it is from a concern that concern leads to complacency. There are serious issues that need to be faced and corrected if our societies are to continue to evolve toward achieving the lofty ideals enshrined in the constitutions of both countries.
